The heroes set sail with the crew of the Feral Free, joining their crew of misfits in their journey towards the capital of Auraelia! After just barely meeting the crew (and after Scram makes an off-color joke about Mr. McGreeby’s mechanical limbs), Captain Styx calls them into her office. There, she educates them on the nature of respect and trust on the open seas, and recommends they not bring their judgement or callousness to those with whom they wished to sail.

Agreeing to be better, Zola and Scram depart Captain Styx’s cabin and meet Quince Tuffler, a sunburnt half-elf with golden hair and the (up until now) newest member of the crew. Zola quickly believes Quince to be the coolest member of the crew (he is clearly not). They promptly become besties, and Quince helps Zola get acquainted with the remainder of the crew:

Two humans, Zurum Batica and Nella Hachara;

halfling sailor triplets known as the Muscatinis;

an orcish boatswain named Mascar Pone;

a kenku navigator who speaks only in mimicry, named Lyre;

a tabaxi cleric chef, Flambae;

a first-mate gnome possessing many biomechanical limbs, Mr. McGreeby;

a pitiful elven deckhand named Quince Tuffler,

a former Imperial navy member picked up by Styx;

and finally, Cicirose Paix-nuit, a drow elf who steers by night.

Zola and Scram take a break from meeting new friends to interior decorate their new cabin— naturally—then split up to do their chores.

The two immediately go to work, Scram using his dancing prowess to catch rats, and Zola using her strength to climb the rigging and patch up a sail- then making a fool out of herself when she falls to the deck, hard.
