Chapter Four: Ratatouille Rumble

On their way to retrieve Lord Cravern’s stolen item, Zola, Scram and Prya get into a ferocious battle with swarms of rats. Zola skewers one on her sword, while Scram roasts two with his Burning Hands (before sampling the delicious bbq). Prya, despite her fear of rats, lends her help as a healer: helping to clear the path to a pedestal in the room, and even using an unexpected blast of necromantic magic to keep the rats at bay while Zola and Scram inspect the bowl upon the pedestal.

Scram uses minor illusion to create the sound of a (horny?) cat, buying time for Scram to grab a rat (?), put it in the bowl (??) and light it on fire (???).

Activated by Scram’s firebolt, the platform shifts and reveals a hidden staircase leading deep below the ground. The three flee from the rats and descend into the darkness.

There, they find a giant cavern below Paddlewick filled with giant crystals emerging from the ground. Prya, exhausted from the last encounter, suggests resting before continuing forward. Zola and Scram are reluctant, asking if she can chug a Fantasy Red Bull (Actually Gives You Wings), but compromise on taking just a peek at the path ahead while Pry sets up camp.

Walking betwixt the crystals, Zola and Scram discover a black stone fortress amongst the crystals, its window glowing with candlelight. Realizing that this actually seems like a lot, Zola and Scram return to camp with Prya.

While Scram loudly snores, Zola and Prya speak about their lives in Paddlewick, Zola’s as an outsider and Prya as an adopted acolyte of Chauntea. Zola asks if Prya would ever join her on her journey south, but Prya insists that something in Paddlewick calls out to her to stay.
